Florida does not require witnesses but you are required to have an officiant. But to make things easier on you- Alyssa is a licensed officiant and can legally perform your ceremony and sign your marriage license.  You can also have a friend or family member become ordained in order to add a personal touch to your day. 

Saint Augustine Florida is known for its year-round beauty with temperatures averaging between 70-80 degrees, especially with the ocean breeze keeping temperatures cooler than in Central Florida.  Summers here have higher chances of sudden thunderstorms, but the storms pass as quickly as they appear.  Spring weather offers blooming azalea flowers, lower rain chances, and mild temperatures. Fall offers shorter days, chilly temps that can drop into the 50s, and fair weather with little rain. Winters here can range in temperature from 30-70 degrees, and are usually very dry. You'll even be able to check out the world famous Saint Augustine Nights of Lights. 

Yes! There are several beaches that allow dogs so long are they are leashed. Downtown Saint Augustine is also very dog friendly, with many shops allowing well behaved leashed dogs and offering treats or bowls of cool water in the hotter months. Make sure to always follow Leave No Trace and pick up after your pup. 

A looming storm can be scary, so if your elopement is scheduled during hurricane season we make sure to watch the weather forecast very closely. If there is a hurricane forecast to hit on your wedding day, we can either shift locations to somewhere outside the cone of impact, or we can postpone/move up your date to avoid any potentially dangerous weather. 

In most cases, yes. Depending on the beach that you choose, and who owns the land- state, county, or private. If you choose a beach like Anastasia State Park or Matanzas Inlet you will need a permit, but the process is a simple one that we're familiar with and should cost you $100 or less on average.  Once you've settled on an exact location we can guide you through the entire permitting process and get you in touch with the right permitting office. 

No! That's the joy of Florida, while it has many beautiful beaches that's not all it has to offer. It also has incredible caverns, forests, historic towns & monuments, botanical gardens, breweries, art museums, islands,  springs, and more. If you want to elope in Florida, but don't enjoy the beach we have a large list of sand-free places to elope! 

After you've said your vows you have a wide variety of activity options. Saint Augustine offers horse & carriage tours, light house tours, ghost tours, private chartered sail boats, paddle board or kayak rentals, surfing, winery tours and tastings, distillery tours and tastings, romantic picnics on the beach, visit a hidden olive grove, or grab some caffeine at a capybara cafe!
